She/Her

Dr. Schuman's roots run deep in Edmonton where she was born and raised. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from The University of Alberta, but then pivoted from business clients to busy clinics to persue her true passion in Primary Care Medicine. She went on to complete both Medical School and a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Schuman's interest in infant lactation began with her own breastfeeding challenges with her firstborn child. After quickly realizing that feeding was not going as planned, she and her son became patients at Willow's Infant Feeding and Lactation Clinic, where they recieved the compassionate care and advice needed to successfully turn their feeding journey around.

It was this personal experience which sparked her dedication to help babies thrive and to help parents find confidence and fulfillment somewhere in these sleepless nights. Dr. Schuman trained to become an International Board Certified Lactation Conultant and perform the Frenectomy procedure under the supportive mentorship of Dr. MacGregor at Willow Family Medicine.

When she is not at Willow, Dr. Schuman enjoys spending time at the park with her husband and two sons, amateur gardening in her backyard, and cooking with enthusiasm.
